We are seeking an Accountant to join our team.
The Accountant will work under the supervision of management to handle, as a team, the various needs of the accounting department. The successful candidate will be organized, dependable, detail-oriented and be able to balance multiple priorities.
This is a full-time, on-site position, Monday – Friday 8 am to 5 pm
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Cross train with A/P, A/R, H/R, Payroll, Billing, and Purchasing functions
- Cross- train to perform daily, weekly, monthly reconciliations to cash accounts
- Maintain the general ledger, balance sheet, and profit and loss statement
- Handle month-end activities; create journal entries and accruals
- Resolve accounting discrepancies
- Prepare financial statements
- Communicate and work with outside CPA for preparation of tax returns
- Prepare and file monthly Sales & Use Tax returns
- Handle monthly inventory and annual physical inventory
- Job Costing
- Handle fixed assets and depreciation
- Set-up new customers and ensure accounts are kept within credit terms
- Oversee insurance renewals for all business policies and benefit policies
- Keep corporate insurance, property taxes, leases, licenses current
- Oversee rental property monthly rent, tax returns, and expenses
- Ability to prepare and file W-2’s, 1099’s and step into payroll functions as needed
- Some duties that pertain to this position may be added or changed
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
- Minimum of three years of accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Well organized, and detail-oriented
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Quickbooks
- Working knowledge of EXCEL spreadsheets, with experience creating/using Pivot Tables and VLookUp.
- Knowledge of Quickbooks
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Hardworking with the ability to function independently and as part of a team.
